UHF Satcom Equipment
ViaSat is the world leader in DoD UHF mobile satellite networking, providing user terminals, modems, and simulators, as well as network gateways and infrastructure to the U.S. and ally military forces.
UHF Satcom Terminals
With ViaSat's RT-18XX family of UHF SatCom Terminals, you can choose a SatCom terminal that best matches your requirements. ViaSat’s four terminals all use the exact same modules (cards), so that required spares are kept to the minimum. The card set for one SATCOM channel consists of an Upconverter, Downconverter, Modem and Input/Output modules. The difference in the terminals is twofold; the chassis and the platform type. The chassis differ in the amount of UHF channels that can be accommodated in a given chassis. Dependent upon the chassis type, one to four full duplex channels can be accommodated. Platform type deals with how ruggedized the chassis is required to be. The RT-1828 and RT-1830 terminals are non-ruggedized and used in benign environments such as shore stations. The RT-1829 chassis is ruggedized for an at sea environment and the RT-1831 chassis is ruggedized for an aircraft environment.
